This project is part of a design-research studio within the Master of Landscape Architecture program at the City College of New York, supported by the College-wide Research Vision. The studio engages with territorial landscapes, examining designers’ roles in long-term planning and policymaking. Taking the Army Corps of Engineers’ recent NY & NJ Harbor & Tributaries Focus Area Feasibility Study (HATS) as an undertone, these maps challenge contemporary coastal resilience discourse, which is awash with an unquestioned acceptance of technological advancement and scientism.
